Dropping with the lip on a big wave is a tough takeoff.

The slide occurs, after the lip hit the wave face above him. Given the wave size, most boards would have had a tough time.

I'm pessimistic about when this will end - seems like it is 6 months, but the start of the 6 months keeps changing with talk of tougher restrictions. I have also ridden this board extensively, predominately finned, but it rides fine finless. It has a more traditional BB bottom.

The latest board - intended to replicate board 7. I only had one wave in a very crowded surf and it went pretty well.
