Re: Rail shapes for finless hold.

krusher, instead of round 50/50 i use a pointy 50/50. sometimes the whole length, that is to the 12-16" from the tail. and some the 50/50 sharpy first third of the board to a 60/40 sharpy for the next bit until the 12-16" from the tail and ones that really work great (depending on how you ...

pez, lookin good! the board you borrowed from me is 4/6 oz stepped on the deck and 4 oz on the bottom. remember the flex you felt in that one? you will feel it in yours as well, but you and i shop in the men's dept (heavier than average). shorter, id guess under 4'5", you must go thinner and th...

SG…Aside from leaving out reference to that obscure, functionally one-dimensional design known as “the hull”, which has obviously upset you, I’m not sure what your point is here. It is obvious that my remarks are solely directed at my own designs. I want others to know that with my designs, there i...

nomas, "Stand-up riders apply pressure with their feet, so fins are set towards the tail. Kneeboarders apply pressure through their knees and ankles, so they place their fins much further up from the tail. I..." your THEORY, your comments are a generalization. not all standups put the fins...

"Buy a 1/8'' plywood door skin, shape it and contact cement it to the bottom. Then, varnish the wood. You'll have a really fast bodyboard. If you want something to surf, then figure out how to make it yourself. That's the real kick, riding what you created...I am a surfer! Short, long, medium or...

some once said, "I have found over the years i am a prone goofy, as a i prefer my dominant right hand and my rail control hand." and i'm here to tell you that kneeboarders can have a backside. having surfed NoCal on kneeboards for 40+ years on mainly nothing but rights makes surfing lefts/...

point concept was a double entendre. i was referring to Santa Barbara's Ryan Lovelace rabbits foot. His lable is Point Concepts. Hees been making them for a bunch of years. besides that, your board looks like fun. sheesh.

"Yet no other maker of surfcraft, powerboats or yachts uses this seemingly simple but highly efficient rail design." surffoils, i beg to differ a little, almost all modern surfcraft use a varying form of this rail configuration, at least on the tail. pboats and yachts may not but they aren...

rails.jpg krusher, you are right, the concave does hold the board down to help in turning as well as with drive, kind of like having a twin fin. a, b and c are really fast and sticky, d is the one i was talking about that was a pocket hog. surfffoils, i can see why your rail works, its the hard edg...
