This of course begs the question, "If you get an insane, truly epic ride and no one else is there to see it...do you still get coolness points?"

Re: Which paipo for hollow waves ?

Limp absorbs the bumps MUCH better ! I remember Dale Solomonson telling me he loved those original ones, in many ways much closer to his surf mats and that he thought Morey ruined them when he stiffened them up, took all the "life" out of them and also slowed them down and his perception w...

Re: Swim Fins with Booties

Yes, the Force Fins have over the instep, wide strap and open toe. They are as comfy as bedroom slippers but lack the power of Ducks or Vipers. I carefully pool tested once for lap speed and also acceleration (without pushing off, how far out of the water can I shoot from bottom of deep end of swimm...

Re: Cork and bamboo paipo

I finally saw (in person) a Wegener alaia the other day. I'm was surprised to see just how narrow those boards are. I've see his shaping videos for the alaia, and I know he recommends something like 16-18" width. And when I see photos of some tombstone paipos it seems like they follow that sam...

If I saw same video it was a POV using a GoPro or similar. Those always put me right to sleep unless they are the mesmerizing deep gnarly barrel kind. I'm a sucker for those!

We are not limited to sizes and shapes due to expensive molding start up cost. We can custom make you almost any shape and dimensions you want, or choose from our current models."

Re: swim fins - DaFin

"We are always slightly wary when people say the strap snapped when they were putting them on, as the strap is for keeping them on, not pulling them on. Pulling them on by the strap could well snap it, even if it is in perfect condition – it just isn’t deigned for that purpose." Kinda sad ...

Re: swim fins - DaFin

While living outside Tucson AZ I found a pair of Force Fins that fit me for $2, in perfect shape! Comfortable as bedroom slippers BUT much less thrust and drive than my Vipers. Ultimately ditched the comfort for the acceleration and speed.

Heck, even if it doesn't surf well! Remember the famous saying, "The best surfer is the one having the most fun." It is all about the ride, but I think the "ride through life" is the one that really counts in the end

Not rider perspective but observer POV so we can really see what it is doing. I am another reader with nada to say except "WOW!" Cool stuff, creative ferment plus obvious craftsmanship.

The caveat is I haven't had the opportunity to ride them in anything over 8ft face though.
That's at OB though and waves there tend to be mas beefy compared to most other surf spots

Re: California Surfcraft Bodypo Review

On all fronts seems like a pretty genius creation to me. Certainly not for everyone but a "one design" that perhaps beats the ubiquitous bodyboard in a great many aspects

If I remember correctly it is more for flex/stiffness modulation in the build.

It is raised. That look of concavity is just an artifact of photographic depth flattening
