Re: TBG7
Actually, I just checked the numbers and the rocker is 1/16" @ 12" up from tail, goes to 0" at 16" up and stays there until 29" up where it goes to 1/16" until 32" up. So, for you Lindsay Lord fans, the "water plane" is 22.5"W x 40"L (Overall le...

Re: TBG7
About 1/2"...although I will bring the bottom up to the deck when I finish shape it, which will add another 1/4" or so of rocker. Final rocker measurement not as important as the actual bottom curve. I like rocker that rises slowly for the first 6" or so, and then begins to accelerate...

Re: TBG7
I still don't have the cut shapes back from Marko, but here's a drawing of the 48"er taken from Aku G7_Profile_48in.jpg Dark line is profile at centerline, while red line is profile at rail. As can be seen, centerline rocker is flatter than rail rocker. Tail concaves definitely flatten bottom r...

Re: TBG7
On custom boards, the volume target varies with the weight of the rider. I use a formula I derived from pure trial-and-error going back to the G3. The formula produces the optimum volume for a particular rider when rider weight is known. Of course there is a +/- factor, such that a given volume will...

Re: fin placement on bodyboard?!
As for me, the only reason I would surf a finless board is if nothing else was available...surfed finless body boards for over 30yrs, beginning in the late 70s...thrill is gone. But don't let me stop anyone else from having the experience. Heck, I still body surf when all I have is my fins... Posted...

Re: TBG7
I just picked up this board from the glasser. It's the precursor of the new G7. It was the first PU/PE T-Belly that I've done in about 10 years. I forgot how much finishing the stringer can slow you down. I used the ultra-light "Red" density Millennium 5-0WS blank for this shape. Millenium...

TBG7
I've put a lot of thought into the G5 design over the past 7 months, removing features and adding features. With the return of my glasser, the door to eps shapes was re-opened, and I decided that it was time to settle on a new design, the "G7". Basically, I removed the bottom rail bevel/co...

Re: TBG5
Got some good news the other day...my epoxy glasser is back in the biz, at least part-time. He's actually finishing a PU core G5 this weekend for me. I've made some major tweaks in the design in anticipation of going back to EPS, and will start a new "G7" thread. I still ride my G5 regular...

Re: TBG5
I don't think so, he's a local Ventura guy, lifelong surfer. While riding the G5, he was having trouble over-turning and doing inadvertent 360s and kick-outs as a result of muscle memory related to turning his Bonzer. The combination of the curvy outline and the location of the fins make the G5/G6 t...

Re: Does it sound like a good paipo ?
my $0.02...the shape pictured is pretty well-executed with a wide-point forward outline, beveled rail allows concave deck, bottom contours appear to be belly-to-flat with exit concave out the tail. All good stuff... but I would not surf this board with fins unless all I wanted to do was go fast in a...

Re: New Blank
Pes... While I haven't pulled the trigger on ordering a new blank, I've had great support from Millennium. The guy I worked with is Seth (seth.bishop@millenniumelastomers.com) I think they have worked out the kinks in logistics that may have plagued them earlier.

Interesting thread on Sway's
https://www.swaylocks.com/forum/109358/stoneburners-assist-build-48-12-body-board I like the modular concept of the "channel cartridge", which would allow experimentation with outline, rocker, rail shape, etc while maintaining the same or almost the same bottom contour. Not bad for a "...
