Learning how to glue and laminate in this cold wet UK weather is an eye opener ,I had huge double garage work shop in South Africa I thought could not live without it but heating it hear would not make sense sheds work fine but you can’t collect junk, a tinkerer is only as good as his pile of junk

Yes stick, glue, weld stuff together and then rip it apart, there is amazing new adhesives and materials out there,example cars are glued together .

I still feel foils will give better lift to drag numbers than parallel to water flow rails .This is also an experiment with vinyl wrap, I don’t know how long it will stay on. I have been thinking about a box fitting to run stand-up board fins horizontally on the rails .lots of interesting profiles to test. Not certain they can handle full horizontal side load.

The lift to drag ratio of a winglet is better than a sliding rail, so the same lift with less drag. So at the same speed a wing will have less parasitic drag compared to a sliding rail were the low pressure wake is mostly unattached

The rail and trailing edge are looking good, I found a wide square trailing edge generally very fast, but dropping down a vertical face they make the center of lift move to the outside tail making the rider move back to control the pitch, dragging more bits in the water.

How about a heavy rider compared to a light rider on the same board on identical waves with the same experience. Who will be faster, or ride the most distance

As a small percentage of the total riding weight the board weight cannot have a significant effect on performance . How can you measure it?

I think a lot of people don’t see the overall picture. The overall weight has to include the rider.
