Re: TBG7

Out of curiosity, what is the volume target.

Are the fins further forward compared to your other boards. Modern kneeboards seem to have moved fins way forward compared to older boards.

Re: Getting Churchill fins to fit

The weight of the fin, hanging from the strap stretches the strap, is utilising gravity.

The hop: https://youtu.be/mAp48UqnizI

Paulownia is pretty standard, doesn't need glassing. A wood board is obviously very different to a foam one to ride. Ryan Byrch rode unglassed slabs of foam.

Re: Re-shape

Just too be clear, "But with any size, combined with chop, the board bucked. It hopped, it chattered and my rides were basically holding on." If you mean, you are going fast and the board starts skipping like a stone over water, then welcome you are going to find over time. On a stand-up b...

Thanks Dave and you've obviously come across fir problems.

What is the advantage of gel, heat and tennis balls over gravity?

I wanted to check out quality and durability when wet. I emailed them and got one reply but not a reply to stretch when wet.

Anyone from near San Francisco (not Santa Monica)on the forum?

In my quest to find a Go-Pro set-up that is not a helmet or a board fixture that would lobotomise me. Jarrett Liu has been experimenting with shoulder straps. I came across these: https://stuntmancameramounts.com/ I've e-mailed the company about suitability in the surf and salt water. A personalized...

Gday Nomas,

Would the customer be someone I've done a paipo interview with? No need to name names., but that would narrow the field.

Sounds like some questions might be in order. Someone must have surfed it in recent memory, or that leash has been there a long time.

Re: Does it sound like a good paipo ?

Width is a matter of taste - Jeff's boards are way wider: https://mypaipoboards.org/interviews/Je ... 0602.shtml

If it is not too expensive, why not?

Width always operates in harmony with other parameters.

Re: Nose thickness

I don't have a "too vertically" I can take off straight on a wave to the point of air dropping and not have a problem nose-diving. By straight, do you mean straight facing to shore? I much prefer to be on the board when I kick into a wave than behind the board and pulling up onto the boar...

Re: Nose thickness

I don't experience any problems with pearling the nose ever, which is why I am an advocate of the shorter board. If you go too vertical on a take-off, what happens? I dusted off the HPD yesterday. I'm not a fan of having to push forward onto the board,at take-off. If you rode one all the time, I gu...

Re: Nose thickness

Nomas,

Most decks are standard flat/rolled, the bottom has concaves. The pale blue boards, has a scooped out deck - the initial thinking was a flextail/spoon.
