Re: quad fins 44.25 paipo
general rule is on wide tails you would want your fins placed closed to the rail.

Re: Can't help myself
If your talking about the hull I didn't keep it long enough to really get a feel for it. I got one wave at Steamer lane on it and I felt out of control going up and down the face which I thought was because I didn't have a big enough fin. I was running a Greenough 7" 4A was going to get a 8 or ...

Re: Can't help myself
So the last time I said I was taking a break from shaping I lasted 3 months. I'm thinking of shaping another board(I've lasted 8 months without shaping anything). I also like working with Tony who shaped my last board since he's not afraid of shaping things out of the box. I don't know what to do at...

Wood Paipo
Ordered a paipo from Jarrett Liu who's member here. Here's some pics he sent to me the other night. It's 48"x22"x3/8th not sure what wood he uses maybe he'll chime in on here. As you can see this one has a concave deck. Can't wait to get this in the water.

Re: Bodyboards discuss (the soft paipo)
I like the yellow bottom board. Is the stagnation of the bodyboard based on the materials used and how they're made? I think Toobs is the only bodyboard company making boards here. Don't want to make it a political statement here but I will. The problem is these companies want to make the most money...

Re: Things prone in general
Yeah flojo I've seen those and was looking into them at one point. It's funny I was getting out of the water today and couple guys I know were asking if they could try my board. The thing is they wanted to try surfing it standing up. These guys surf pretty well and I think they could do it, will be ...

Re: Things prone in general
I reread your interview and now remember the board. Interesting about the soft boards as there are some new ones out that may be worth looking into. Formula fun which is part of Marko I think have a fish softboard that could a combo knee/paipo like your soft board. And INT have a few new boards out ...

Re: Can't help myself
Had some decent waves Thursday morning caught a head high wave and I just flew down the line for about a 100 yds. Board held a line real good. Thanks Rod the cove pads are the best.

Re: Things prone in general
Nels was that board your talking about from wave front surf shop? I know they had some softtop boards in there at one point. I went in once to check them out and the guy in the shop said he was having some poly boards made from down in the South Bay. He said it was based on the board he was riding a...

Re: Things prone in general
I started surfing late in life I think at 28 or so. Did the stand up thing because that's what I thought surfing was or is. Kneeboarded for a couple years and I was looking for something else to do when it was big at some of the spots I would go to. So I bought a handplane for bigger days and to get...

Re: Can't help myself
So the bottom was a bit messed up yesterday and I attempted to flatten it out today. Didn't feel like chasing things so it's a bit of belly with some double through the fins. Fins are set 4" off the tail and 2" off rail. Toed in .25" with 5 degrees cant. Redid the nose by cutting down...

Re: Can't help myself
Here's what we got going today. Need to rework the outline a bit because there are a couple issues in the nose and tail that I want to fix. Dims are right now 4' x 22" thickness about 1.5". Slight concave deck bottom is flat and I'll be having bonzer 3 fin side fins glassed on. Will update...

Re: 4'10
I'll be putting a cove pad on it so I'd be pretty locked in. The Greenough thing is what I'm kinda going for. I would like to get some footage if me surfing it at some point. Thickness is 1.5" in the center, the concave deck is .75" and the bottom has .25" single before it goes into t...
