how do you paint between the board and the wing? i like it just the way it is...complicated board, simple paint.

Thanks Soulglider, I spray paint the foil top plain black, I am horrified to see an aeroplane flying up a pair of legs

I had to tamper with it, but the white accents seem to work? The accents could be any colour, neon red?

Chris,

My wife tells me I'm colour blind so I'm the last person to ask about colour schemes. Having said that, I think the white breaks up the greyness. Your other boards seemed really light colours - what inspired the darker colours?

Hi Bob,
A body board co over hear brought out an all black board which looks gorgeous so I had to try .They say black boards don’t like hot climates ? The hypersonic UAV that inspired the wing form has a similar paint pattern, the deck is all black foam with 20mm deep elbow inlays, and it should be a very comfortable ride. I really battle to make unique graphics

It is rubbed down to 800 ready for pin stripes and urethane clear coat, the fish eye look from the Go pro makes it look fat

Chris,

Brett will be back. I suspect he's working or life is busy. Then again, there may be another project.

Thanks for the complements, a person can lose focus and doubt decisions made weeks ago on a project like this .Hears a shot with the last board , it’s about three years old ones a week ride mostly shore break, and never carried in a board bag. The black board is far from finished I still have to fit the contoured foam deck. Make and fit a leash plug.My wife calls this" Doing Nothing "? its a good name for the board.

As I say...really nice....if I had less projects already underway I'd love to build something like that for myself. My kid was drooling over it....likes the grey F16 style paint scheme !!

Keep it coming !!

The wing form is basically influenced by the hyper sonic UAVthe SR-72.With a wide base quick taper wingtip, with lots of lift area near the centre of the board. The paint is air craft influenced.Aircraft engineering is one of my biggest influences

Foam inlays are in and profiled, I picked up on soft foam shaping by watching Discovery channel car shows , You can be creative with soft foam basically any relief profile can be put on a deck, 5mm black foam to the rail edge still to go on

I worked in the heavy plant industry but I am the wrong side of 60, it left me with strong hands so I can sand all day, do you think I could sell odd ball boards like this ?
