Be patient. I can't say I really got past the basics - now and then I had a glimpse of what they could do. I found that ideally you needed some power, a peak or something similar to launch from. If you go out in 1-2" weak waves you may not find it too satisfying.

There are some riding tips floating around on riding them. Like a lot of designs they have some mystery that needs to be tapped into.
