fiberglass/polyester + Cores PE, NRG , PP?
I have not finished the last paipo and I am already with my head in the material of the following
I spent a few hours looking through www and I can not find an answer:
The core NRG, pp, pe, are compatible with polyester? more concrete with H61-UV from Hegardt?
I'm trying to make a hybrid between paipo and bodyboard. core of paipo, the deck laminated with fiberglass and the bottom with material bodyboard
this recipe lets me put carbon dioxide in the rails ,,,, it can do many crazy ways and many experiments with different flexibilities, but first I need to know the compatibility of the materials
Another doubt that I can not find, with what can I stick, apart from heat the 8 Pound PE Deck Skin? What type of glue can be used? Polyester also supports?
I want to combine everything that is in the manufacture of surfboards with bodyboard materials, it is a very interesting challenge for me

Re: fiberglass/polyester + Cores PE, NRG , PP?
Original Boogie kits said "contact cement", which is what I used back then. Kind of rank stuff if I recall.
I used epoxy resin to reattach the loose bottom skin and attach deck skin to the EPS foam on my Wavestorm project. I'm going to give that a full 5 day cure time, and then we'll see. Seems a bit sketchy to me.

Do you want to put bodyboard core material on the bottom of a fiberglass paipo?
The bottoms of bodyboard are HDPE plastic or surlyn (dupont)

if that's exactly what I want to do. polyester uv+ fiberglass ..
I am looking for materials in Spain, I can not find anything, neither pe 2.2 nor pp1.9 pp1.3 density
I do not find the rest of the materials either. I'm looking at industry utilities, packaging systems, home insulation ... or something I'm doing wrong

My suggestion would again be,a sk on the Swaylocks site. There are French and Spanish pro and backyard board builders who can give you info.

solarez: Sponge-Rez works on all types of bodyboard materials including Ethafoam, Surlyn, EVA, Vinyl, and Arcel, however it will melt styrofoam (EPS) cores.

How do I bond PolyEthylene to PolyStyrene ?

We would suggest our Camie 373 spray adhesive for bonding polystyrene to any other foam product we carry.
Camie 373: While Camie 373 can also be used on our closed-cell foams, we suggest this product for use on the polystyrene/EPS foams the 3M Super77 would have damaged.

Re: fiberglass/polyester + Cores PE, NRG , PP?
I'm finding it hard to find polypropylene 1.3 density in Spain
so I've been spinning my head and using materiel that I can find.
hdpe for now, not in a small format, but everything is to keep looking
A friend told me that whenever I put fiberglass and resin in a paipo, being so small compared to a surfboard I will kill flex, I will always stay rigid, I put the layers that I put on. This idea may be interesting, as there is a substitute for hdep. that is used in the bodyboard at the bottom, but e has happened to put one in the top to protect the xps to the hits, since this does not have the properties of pe and pp. I think this is already used in a soft surfboard

Re: fiberglass/polyester + Cores PE, NRG , PP?
Flex may add soft landing to a bodyboard when landing airs, but other than that I find the stiff fiberglass board better at everything else. faster and turns better.

Re: fiberglass/polyester + Cores PE, NRG , PP?
A friend has left me a very old bodyboard to look at compatibilities of materieles and polyester resins ,,, I really do not like anything the rubbery touch of the bodiboard, I do not find gradables cojerlos, will be for many years accustomed to the hardness of the fiberglass
If a bodyboard has 57mm of fat more or less, what combinations of foam eva have you done? To put a 20mm foam would be too much?

Re: fiberglass/polyester + Cores PE, NRG , PP?
In my search for cheap materials and fast manufacturing I found PVC celuka foam.
is a foamed pvc sheet which makes it lighter than pvc, do you know any of this?
I think a thickness of 4mm would be fine
do you know this material? what do you think?
