I made a 15" x 5'5" alaia style board a few years back. It's the one I use when the surf is small.

Paipo surfer in repose,
Nose on the nose,
No grunting he-man pose.
See how fast he goes!
What is it he knows?

Poplar board I made several years ago. The template was copied directly from a vintage Crest board from Penzance. The nose kick was done by soaking the nose of the board for a few days, boiling the nose for 20 to 30 minutes, then clamping, and left in clamps for a day.

Note: after this photo was taken, I used a spade bit to drill two shallow holes into the bending block, so the C-clamps wouldn't slip around.

Thumper, I made a 12 inch wide board but found it needed a lot of power to plane and sunk once your foot was off the gas.
