There's an interesting old board that made the journey from Hawaii to a museum in London. Is it the mother of what we sometimes call a Cornish style board? There are some similarities....13 inches wide and tapering back to a an 11 inch square tail with amply rounded corners. Keep those measurments in the back of your head when you look at the photos. The camera lens and angle have distorted some of the photos.

Will Mr. Mike be the first kid kid in the neighborhood riding a Fowler replica this spring? I think I'll make mine with a charcoal and oil finish.

I wonder if the other side looks the same............?
Paipo surfer in repose,
Nose on the nose,
No grunting he-man pose.
See how fast he goes!
What is it he knows?

The Surfing Museum article has a link to the British Museum. Three photos and no side view. Badly distorted by the camera. The nose looks twice as wide at the tail...when it's really just two inches wider.
