Does anyone have any info on this 40 inch, twin fin "Pacific Paipo"?
Company history? Age? Etc?
I might be willing to trade for a contemporary longboard in the San Diego area.

I've never heard of them but it looks like a copy of a Newport style board. Is it possible to find out who owned it?

Thanks, Yeah I checked Stanley's and every other source I know. That's why I'm asking you guys.
The previous owner knows nothing about it's history. I've submitted pix of the board to them for posterity.

BTW- That sweet vintage Greek spoon in the Stanleys Paipo section is mine.

First time I've ever seen that logo and I've seen plenty.
Bring it to an LBCC meet. Next one is the end of the month in Seal Beach.
There's likely someone who knows the origins and somebody willing to trade as well.

A little TLC would make that a nice rider.

It would make a nice little rider, but I'm 6'4-230. LOL. She a bit ugly, but surprising solid. No real delam and solid fins. Been rode hard and patched several times by someone that didn't own any sandpaper (-; Got to love old glass...
Won't be able to make that LBCC meet, but I've got a few interested partys.

Could the previous owner tell you how long they had it or where they got it?

I bought it from a little old lady at a yard sale. She thought it was a skateboard.

which she rode on Sundays. I imagine it wasn't a relatives or she may have added who it belonged to.

Another angle, I don't know what town it came form but you could try a long time resident or surf-shop in such a thing exists in the area. There may also be local collectors, but you might have asked them already.

I bought it in San Diego, but I imagine it's probably an L.A. board originally made in the 60's (?)
SoCal is/was a hotbed of board makers that have come & gone.
I've asked everyone I've found localy, and on the net, No joy. No one has offered any info so far.
Aparently this thing is definitely a rare bird and has historical value. Unfortuately I don't have the luxury of being a "Collector" or offering it to a surf museum for a tax credit. So I need to convert this into something I can actually use; which is a nice 9'6 longboard. We'll see what happens.??
