A few years back when I first got serious about prone riding I shaped this board with paulownia bought off the 'net.
Just glued it up and cut out the somewhat wonky plan shape and eased the edges.
At that time I really didn't know sh!t from Shinola when it comes to these boards and I wanted to leave some meat for future alterations.
60" X 19.5 X 3/4" +/-
After riding these alaia type boards almost exclusively for a couple years now I decided this board needed to lose some width and thickness.
As a starting point I wanted to emulate the outline of the board below (as best as I could with the shorter length)
I got inspired after seeing a very large print of the photo below and realizing the board he's holding is no simple flat plank but instead a very sophisticated shape.
After some futzin' around with AKU, I came up with this,
