Sorry I have been away
Sorry that I haven't been active for a while. I have had some new injuries and some old injuries acting up. So I haven't been surfing very much this last year. I went out two weeks ago. And then I was out of the water walking around and I fell and messed up my ribs. Hopefully this winter I will get ...

Re: TBG5
All my boards have point forward of the midline. But I ride my boards all the way forward. My elbows are 13 inches from the nose. So I drive the forward edge. This a better purchase on the water. One of my boards has a more of a bodyboard outine. I can pretty much ride anything on that board. I skip...

How do like the deep channels? I have been afraid to go too deep with the single concaves on my boards.

Re: What are you riding at the moment?
How do you like riding on the 5' 4" mini simmons? You ride it prone right? Do you wear fins or can you arm paddle into the waves?

Re: Generating speed using skegs ?
I don't know about pumping like shortboarders do. But I find that skegs add speed on bottom turns.

An Interesting Board From the 1930s
Here is an interesting older board. I thought it is interesting, because it has more of a "surfboard"
shape than many older paipos. http://americanhistory.si.edu/collectio ... ah_1761095

Re: Glass an old bodyboard
Hi, I don't know, if it would stick or not. Also Polyurethane resin will dissolve EPS foam. It also might dissolve the the outer foam. It might be easier to go your local home improvement store (Home Depot etc.) and buy some XPS or EPS, I know a guy who made boards out the plain old pink XPS foam so...

I might go to Jalama on 10/7 just for the day. You have to reserve at least 2 days on weekends at Jalama campground. I might stay in Lompoc. I am planning to be down in the Santa Barbara area for 5-6 days or so.

Adjustable Force Fins
These are the fins I have been using the 10 months or so. If you want comfort, these are great. I have worn Regular and Pro Force fins for many years. But I have high insteps and even with the instep pads I got lot of irritation, after surfing for awhile. With the Adjustable Force fins I can surf fo...

Re: Chest Guard/Rash Guard
Hi, I have gone back to using my Paddle Air. It seems to protect my rib inury better. It is kind of a hassle having to adjust the position with every wave. But it seems to work better at protecting my ribs. My injury has gotten better so I might try the Sport Guard again.
