Re: Board outline, with and without fins
Fun and interesting read ,if it leads to fine tuning outline design and fin hold ,or finless function with less drag. Your disclaimer about relative position at any given point in the wave face makes sense, but multiplies the variables of optimum pitch roll and yaw not withstanding wave shape . I'm ...

Re: Hydro tech fins
Hi rod , I'm not sure what O E tethers are.... Googled it and came up with a bunch of others....... the tethers I have work fine but are a pain to take off and on in the water. Could you break that down for me a little more? I'm always open to more options. Thanks for the heads up.

Re: Hydro tech fins
Hi, I've used the tech 2 fins for a little over 2 years, find them a little stiff, but fit great with or without socks (3 mil). My only issue is I wish they floated I'm not a huge fan of extra gear to keep them on. By the way I usually have the socks on most of the time New England ,water is always ...

Re: Wavejet bodyboard
 Just my two cents, but I was thinking about the possibilities of power...new way for catching xxxl waves ?. Much too large to kick into....like the introduction of jet skies for board surfers to make speed in the take off on massive size swells. belly boards, paipos might just enter a new are...

Re: paipo sighting in 60's beach movie
Hey Guys, You called it, I saw the skimmers as well, and that's why I wasn't sure if it was a paipo or not. That being said, I too thought it strange that it wasn't a typicelly round or oblong early skimboard ,if my memory serves me...... the slightly pointed nose and a quick shot of a tapered tail ...

Hi Bob, I was watching it on TV, but I'm sure its on DVD."How to Stuff a Wild Bikini". A screen grab could be fun . its funny what you watch on TV at times. Good luck. Ken,... its really not a bad shot of the board.

Re: keel fin foils and placement
Hi rodndtube, OOps! previous post was incorrect as to widths should read 20" to 20 5/8" SORRY, The boards will be 1/2" ply, I'm going to try and slot the fin bases in and also slot two horizontal inserts(lateral support?) (w/glue or epoxy) deck and bottom sanded flush, want to try to ...

Re: keel fin foils and placement
Hey, thanks, I am going to try the twin keel set up and you gave me very useful info . I was thinking 4 to 5 inch double foil with just a minute amount of toe in, but traditional set- ups seem to be straight, close to the rail, way back and fairly wide base...hmmmm... I might make up a few templates...

keel fin foils and placement
Howdy, I've been making plywood boards for awhile,(1/2" ply) and would like to try some keel fins (single and double foils). But, I'm not sure about placement and line up, can you run them straight and/or with some toe-in? anyone making these have any tips on when to use dbl. foils or single fo...
