Well... Lots of interesting comments although i'd have to err/agree on the those thoughts about a "favoured" rail type and length. As I said, it's got a lot going on as I was interested to see what would work and what would not....all the weirdness going on in the design. Some of it may wo...

ha ha yeah...I built a rabbits foot recently and that's on Sways.....don't forget Burch eh?..... I've got a lot of glassing to finish it would seem!!!

ive seen that on his blog...I really like where he goes with his boards...to clarify though. ..there is no concept or point to the board im doing....as I said im just trying some ideas out......its no big deal...jeez..I feel like im on Sways !!...

Afternoon all,
Been working on this recently and is now up for glassing...this week hopefully.
XPS blank cut to Just under 4' and about 22" wide. 2 and a bit thick....can be ridden on both sides.
I'll post more when done.

I love this thread...really interesting to see the evolution and thought behind it all...I just finished shaping a "rabbits foot" style finless and had similar thoughts about rails and concaves which gave me a real headache thinking about "correctness".... ended up with pinched c...

I really like your work....is really innovative in my view......I reckon u could sell a few. Problem is people are always afraid of change regardless of whether something works. Send one to the UK for a test ride...

As I say...really nice....if I had less projects already underway I'd love to build something like that for myself. My kid was drooling over it....likes the grey F16 style paint scheme !!

Hey....no I've not glassed it yet as I was rethinking the idea....maybe just seal it with Kwik Kick instead of a layer of glass....mmm...decisions decisions !

the board in the background is my sons first effort...he wants to make a mini simmons but I wanted him to learn the basics of shaping first before he farts up a proper US Blank ....its pretty wide but he's six foot two and gangly so it suits his length....ive made some speed keels for it off Rastovi...

Sorry SJB quite right dims would be useful. It's made from Western Redar Cedar (WRC) and dims are: Length = 120 cm (47 inches) Width = 55 cm (21 inches) Depth at Rail = 5cm (approx 2 inches) Depth at deck =1.9 cm (3/4 of a inch) It's got a recessed or beaded nose grab and depressions sanded into the...
