Bellybogger,I loved that board unfortunately I snapped the tail. I cut it down and rode it a few times it never performed like the full length board. Some of the best sessions at the point was had on that board. I am enjoying playing around with making my own. Be great to catchup we don't get many p...

Re: Design evolution - part 1
Hi Bob good info. I am just about to start a new board similar to the last but with 6" more length. I will need to join the blank which should not pose a problem using epoxy. I will keep the bottom flat with very little nose rocker soft rails leading into hard for the last 1/3 of the board. My ...

Re: Building a plywood paipo in the middle of nowhere in Ind
Hello Boucaneer hope you are getting in the water over there I am not sure where you are but if you can get to a island called Diu which is on the far north of the west coast ther are waves 3 to 4 foot on the beach and a few point breaks to discover. There is a great little pub called the Mozambique...

Re: Building a plywood paipo in the middle of nowhere in Ind
Good luck with surfing India. I have surfed the west coasts up in the north (Arabian Sea) There are some really good set ups but you have to be lucky, storm swells seem to be what makes it work up there. Down the bottom of the west coast there are waves and it seems to be a bit more consistant with ...

Re: The Truck
With the UDTs I use gives me enough to get out but I sometime do paddle with 1arm mainly my right.
Taking off on a wave I just kick again the UDTs give heaps of thrust.

Re: My lates Wing board
Hi Brett this May seem like a silly question but how do you stop the plastic bag from sticking to the wet glass?
I have very limited glassing experience but very keen to experiment with some shapes so vacuuming May be a option.
Thanks for the info you have shared.

Fin socks
I have been trying GYROLL fin socks, they have flaps that Velcro onto the fin straps.
They are comfortable, the fit to udt fins are a bit tight owing to the wide heal strap.
Good fit to duck feet though.

Re: First ever
Got a go out at back point today small 1metre but real happy with the new board. I was able to bottom turn and get the rail set with ease. Happy with that I ventured to the right hand point which was breaking a bit more solid and got one ball tearer of a wave. Paddled back out took off on a peaky in...

Re: First ever
Thanks Bob I surf Angourie both sides depending on wind and crowds but there are plenty of other set ups close by. I am going to go finless to see how it goes. I have a pair of fins from another board that I plan to shape down to knubster keel style which will give me a bit of hold on the inside sec...

Merry Christmas to all paipo riders out there. Just finished glassing my first ever attempt at making a board. Really enjoyed the process but found the glassing stressful. I have been checking this forum for a couple of years and have gained some great ideas. Thanks to all that has shared. I have be...

Re: right or left?
The main break I get to surf is a right point if there is a N/E wind I duck over the other side and it's a equally if not better left so I surf both ways with equal joy without bias.
