Re: new pad?

I got the mini cel TVA - looks like what I want but haven't been able to use yet. The project it was for had to be canned, oh well - starting over. I think I'll stick with the pad I have because I'm looking for grip and cushion. I think the hydro turf you are talking about is super thin?

new pad?

I'm reshaping an old board and I'm gonna need a new pad. Does anybody have a recommendation? I'd like a piece about 24"x36" and I'd contact glue it. I can locate some but it's got that raised diamond pattern and I think it's more for standups- not bellies.

contacting Hawaii Paipo Designs

I've been trying to contact Hawaii Paipo Designs - the site doesn't seem to be working. Does anybody know if he's still in business? Paul,
if you are here send me a PM?

Re: Basics.

Hi to Aly in san fran? Flippers flippers flippers. If you are in pacifica with the multitudes of standups I always see there, my (humble and personal) opinion is you will want the most powerful flippers you can get. That are still comfortable on your feet of course.

Re: Velo Flex spoon Build

This looks great - hitting all my buttons. In regard to the fin, I thought the high aspect fin was a big part of how it was supposed to work. In my limited understanding I imagined there would be considerable tension between the the twist of the fin and the flexible front part of the board - the sna...

Dang. That is a lot of channels. And a lot of craftsmanship I suspect. Could you say anything about how you arrived at this particular design? Riding characteristics, previous shapes, stuff like that?

Re: French paipo

You might consider the HPD (Hawaiian Paipo Design) board. It's wide, no skeg and basically no buoyancy. Super easy duck dive. https://paipo.com. Hmm. that doesn't look like it's working but there are links to the site somewhere around here. It's a bit different than most of the paipos people ride he...

Those are about my temperatures maybe a little cooler and I usually use a 4-3. Are you using a hood and socks? They make a big difference to me.

Re: And this too shall pass...but not soon enough

I say buy the suit. It may be the last one you buy but at least you'll be ready to ride whatever you decide is right. I'm planning on being in the water as long as possible, and my standards for performance are pretty low. At least I'll be in the water long enough to get my grandson started.
