To clarify, that comment was made tongue firmly in cheek. I think it's nothing but wonderful to reduce the waste stream and a good product is a good product.GeoffreyLevens wrote: ↑Thu Oct 22, 2020 10:35 amFunny as hell that they charge same $$$ for ones made out of their "scraps" aka trash

Re: TBG5
I also realized the with PU foam being less buoyant than EPS, I would have to adjust my formula for volume. So, now instead of 23L, I'm targeting 25L Yes, density is key. Think liter of feathers vs liter of lead to cite an extreme example. Even same material, 2 lb EPS at same volume will float a lo...
Re: Dreamtime
There's an old saying about pioneers (these days we'd call them invaders) getting arrows in their backs. In GG's case maybe more like cramps in his shoulders.

I used to call my mat "Buffy" in honor of lying on top of Sarah Michelle Gellar i.e. a bit squishy but still firm and nubile er I mean mobilePhillyViking wrote: ↑Fri Oct 16, 2020 7:16 amThe mat's squishyiness is a great feature when you do a big air drop to a flat landing.

Re: Quad Concave Body Board Study
However, a mat can shape shift whereas a rigid board can not, Many of my best rides ever were on a mat Yes, that's. That is why you must shaped some rocker into a more or less rigid paipo and a mat does not need any. Mats you "shape during the ride" as needed. Paipo you have to decide on ...

Re: Quad Concave Body Board Study
Surfmats have totally blunt/square noses and in several years of riding one I never had a single issue w/ it pushing water. On length/width: Dale Solomonson once quoted Greenough to me about how one of his favorite things about mats was that the "throttle, brakes, are steering were all in the s...

Re: Getting Churchill fins to fit
In the past, with Vipers, I've bought a size up so they are a loose sloppy fit but I can get my foot in. Then I glued neoprene on the inner side of the heel strap and wore various thickness of fin socks to make them fit right. I would see if I could exchange the ones you've got for big you need to g...

Definitely. That and sunset, though sunset is generally MUCH more crowded. But first and last light are the best!

Re: fringesurfer.tv
Just watched the Wegener segment again and I did not see that. True, pretty crappy, tiny waves, but most by far he was trimming or turning. I'd love to see him ride one of those boards in some "real" surf i.e. 4-6 foot barrels with good shape.

I've glassed a few and found it not very hard to do, both poly and epoxy. Sanding however...a bit of a bugger in my opinion, both to get it "right" and also just in terms of the misery.
