Re: Futures fin screw
The oils of Peppermint & Wintergreen are both very good penetrants. I'd slather some down in the threads and let it sit over night and try it again. Making sure its free of salt first. If that doesn't work you can take a steel screw of that size(IIRC that's a 10/32, pretty common) and file a gro...

Re: Adding Cork Deck
This one in ½" ply from several years back has a cork deck I added after a couple sessions.. Two layers of ¼". The increase in bouyancy was barely noticeable and it sucked up water, gaining weight during a session. I never bothered to seal it tho'. It is comfortable and does provide a tiny...

Re: Basics.
IMO About the only thing riding a finless wood paipo has in common with riding a boogie or a finned body board is the prone position. I've been riding prone now for about 15 years. Back when I first started riding paipos exclusively full time, I'd say it took me at least six months to get to where I...

Re: Monolith 2001: XLPE
Interesting! How are you using XLPE as a mold for a paipo "Wood Press?" I have developed a technology for making blanks for channel bottom BBs/Paipos. XLPE should work well for building the blanks and prototypes. Just need to come up with a good adhesive that is strong enough to endure th...

Re: A Ripple in the Force
The stuff in the article is not mere conjecture.
Here is one of Tom's Air Injection boards.
You can see the bottom of the air vents in the shadow of the "louver".
He told me he rode it on Maui. Said it was too fast.........

A couple years ago I wanted to buy a new "Boogie" and I asked Tom what should I get?
