Re: Skegs
I am guessing your fin box layout is the same as below -- an industry standard Fins Unlimited center fin box in the middle and two FCS sidebite boxes (sometimes Austin uses Futures). For a 6 in or less center fin std box you can look for Fins Unlimited, True Ames or Rainbow Fin Company. Some of thes...

Re: Skegs
Andy, we should make a day trip down to OC/Assateague. Will try to squeeze it in some time over the next two months but I will be on travel status quite a bit. Putting on a wetsuit again in mid-November may kill me! Planning a short trip down to Hatteras -- something like Thu/Fri to Tue, Oct 8 weeke...

Introduce yourself
Rod Rodgers aka "rodndtube," a paipo boarder from Arbutus, MD. I started waveriding in Puerto Rico in the late-1960s. It was the natural thing to do since I lived on the Island for 9 years, 4th-12th grades. My current passion is combining travel and surf--Puerto Rico being my most frequent...

Re: Skegs
Hi Andyz, The major difference is probably the quick turning radius vs. the drive one can obtain from the center fin effect. Austin usually includes side bites that are more appropriate for using the board in a twin fin setup. My sidebites of choice are much smaller and my center fin ranges from 4 t...

Re: Irene - Mid Atlantic States
Florida has been very good -- that is where I should have gone! A friend sighted a paipo rider scoring some good waves but by the time he was near him the guy had caught a wave in. Was it at Jacksonville beach on saturday 9/17? If so, it was me! :D No, I believe it was in the Cocoa Beach area. But ...

Re: Irene - Mid Atlantic States
Looks like Irene is not going to do us much good - main event will be a blowout and mandatory evacuation will frustrate right before and after attempts. I am sure someone will get a couple rides somewhere and seeing the PICs will drive me nuts but for most of us this will be a non event. These thin...

Good news! The upgraded version of the Forum software has more extensive, built-in support for photos and file sharing. Guidelines are subject to change. I am still learning about how the figure/file handling system works so it will be walking before running. A few guidelines 1) Manage the file siz...
