Re: The Wall Paipo?
Great ride ridden by Mike this is his push-up style with clean cuts. This guy with little concave bottom so far is the fastest board ridden and charges BIG surf. I know cause I ride beside him as I try taking off behind and trying to catch up finding him 5 length in front. Makaha 5'ft - 7'ft hawaiia...

Re: Paipo for sale
Those are the local spots. This is my first paipo, which I'm trying due to blown out shoulder. I went longer to more closely duplicate the feel of a surfboard. There are some shapers out there making long paipos. With deep concaves top and bottom, there's not a whole lot of foam. Being too floaty i...

Re: Need Advice on Build
Not sure that a very buoyant board is necessarily the solution. My narrow plywood finless flat board (neutral flotation) works ok in conditions that seems similar to those you described: https://youtu.be/EVWwCZgZnzc I noticed that a long narrow flat board works better in small closeouts, no side sl...

Re: Technique: Riding position
Aloha, I am the originator or creator of this "Malolo-style" of Papa Paepo'o board surfing. When you becomes "Ma'a" as one with your board, the board will work with you in any size surf. Riding up on the nose, well risking the board to purl-dive. Not to be rude but up front, ride...

Re: Superman board design
So I wonder what kind of waves and / or boards require the superman stance ? I would guess that no waves actually "require" the Superman stance, which may be a reason this hasn't been more formally addressed as a "design issue". For me it's just something that is practically dre...

Re: Superman board design
Aloha gang, Been reading a lot of stories of how to shape a paipo (Papa Paepo'o) wood board. There's many, sizes goes from height to width to thickness that will fit that rider. There's a measurements that I used to build a wood-board for that rider. Each boards models are customs made to each rider...
