Faster for sure.They glide right over flat spots. Also more comfortable paddling for me with my bad neck. I'm not so sure about the turning from the nose. I feel it's more from the middle like right where your navel would be when you are riding. I use my body as much as my legs for maneuvering the b...

When I first started riding the alaia style boards it took me about six months of regular use before I felt like I had it figured out.
Completely different from other craft.

I am there Tuesdays, Thursdays & Saturdays giving tours etc.in my role as docent and often there the rest of the week as the museum preparator working on whatever needs attention.

Open 11am-5pm Everyday but Monday.

Think I saw some "Leo" stuff at Boardroom a year or so back. Didn't strike me as groundbreaking.

For me, most plywood is just too heavy. The lightweight boat building stuff is too $pendy . I prefer solid wood. There are other woods that will work but finding stuff that is somewhat buoyant and light enough for pleasant use is tough, Paulownia really is the hot ticket. I get US plantation grown s...

Most of my boards are the long, narrow alaia type and the superman is my usual style. One or both hands lay flat on the nose of the board. The inshore hand comes off as a pivot during cutbacks.
