Plus updated info and new models on his other prone craft https://www.tomwegenersurfboards.com/models/surfie-bellyboards[/quote] That's very interesting I had not seen his updated board :o What's very interesting to me is that when I did my first board 6 years ago I basically took his hull design fr...

Re: Front fin(s) ?

On my long and narrow plywood paipo, when I turn, I feel like the pivot point is at the front of the board, the back of the board just reacts by "drifting". This is when I ride on a very forward position. It doesn't always turns this way (in a gently drifting move), sometimes it just side...

Re: fiberglass/polyester + Cores PE, NRG , PP?

Flex may add soft landing to a bodyboard when landing airs, but other than that I find the stiff fiberglass board better at everything else. faster and turns better.

Re: quad fins 44.25 paipo

It will be interesting to hear your experience. I rode this board a few times. Garrett2.jpg Garrett5.jpg It was fun on fuller, down the line waves, but it didn't hold an edge in a tube as well as my current board. The board is a lot thicker than it looks - about 3". That's an extreme one! :o I...

Re: Everybody wants to

if you want to get those edges smooth try a hot clothes iron I'll have to see if we have one of those around the house; I wouldn't know offhand  Seriously though I have to clean out a little resin seepage and then if we do have an iron I'll give it a go. I have to go way back in the mental fog...

Is this a place that specializes in puddings? My memory you've got a pretty small car. Someone else drove? Yes, they do have a pudding named after the county where this fish village resides. We went in my friend's car but it's just a ford fiesta. We will drive any tiny car anywhere being Europeans....

Do you want to put bodyboard core material on the bottom of a fiberglass paipo? :?

"Fortune favors the bold" You planning a "strike mission" to the US West Coast this winter? El Nino conditions are being predicted... yes I am considering maybe 6 weeks mid dec to end of jan. I think the last weak el nino did not produce great waves for the monterey bay, but see...

Well there was a chart so we went! 700 mile round trip from south wales to the NE of England for one surf! The good storms arnt frequent in the north sea but when they set up its possibly the UK's best wave. 1 5-hour epic 6/8ft surf. A take-off so hollow and steep that even the uk pros arnt taking i...

Re: Everybody wants to

To amend my post above, I think Morey's creation of the bb is one of the most brilliant ideas in surfing and have greatly enjoyed riding them. Materials is the problem. Once they die, and everything dies, what happens to it. Also, what resources are used to create it in the first place. We now have...

Re: quad fins 44.25 paipo

Today in waves that close with force I have had a very strong blow against the horned paipo, I've done enough damage, I'm fine. has made me rethink the design and make this paipo without fins, I'm thinking of a smooth design but with channels that allow me to run the paced without slipping Remember...

Just curious Uncle G...do you feel the same way about the the foam paipo a.k.a. Morey Boogie Board? The boogie/bodyboard industry have their own wave storm, its the sub $50 bought by the inlanders one week a year beach holiday for the the kids. Here are 600 snapped one left on just a few southern E...
