Re: Alaia Prone - wegener peanut
Ok took out the wegener Alaia town side. Got a few gems today. It doesn't like air drops and the shuffling fore and aft to turn is not to fun after a few. Felt like all that glide was not there today. Only felt a advantage once when pressing the nose down to get down the face. Had the Alaia bending ...

Re: Alaia Prone - wegener peanut
It was made for stand up but it goes so good lying down. Finding the length helps with glide in. Yeah this is not pyramid rock friendly. It would snap in half Same thickness across whole length to yes cutting off tail 10" - 12" no big deal. Dims are 6'4" x 16" x 5/8" (thickn...

Re: HPD Flex Paipos - Small
On base lifeguard rules and call outs is so random. Everyone got called out for a ID check. Sure let me keep my. ID with me while I am in the water.
Got to feel up a XP and it was Paul's standard thickness and weight construction.
OG-AZN let me know if you want to hook up for a paipo sesh.

Alaia Prone - wegener peanut
Scored a used wegener peanut in a board combo sale (think American Pickers bundling). It is 6'3" and has a single concave down the center, v-panels out to the rail from the center concave, and rail curve in the mid section that pulls in like a peanut. Have taken her out a few times. I am 6'1&qu...

Re: Help Identify this paipo
So have taken this out a few times in town and ewa with chest high conditions. Paipo jas some float due to the foam and paddles not bad. Planes up real easy. The big difference is going down the line it kinda gives the flappy bird feeling going up down on the face while pointing down the line. Think...

Re: HPD Flex Paipos - Small
Took v2 out to town side a few times recently but it has been crappy conditions. v2 is definitely more user friendly than v1 and does not have the handbrake gut feature. Very playful compared to the HPD XL. Playful meaning being able to turn on a dime and torque. Rode friend's small HPD to compare a...

Re: Plans or design considerations
Boss made me a $10 ply wood paipo based on my paipo nui small. We couldn't get the rocker or spoon like rocker the paipo nui had. We tried but the new paipo would just spring back to flat regardless what we tried (steam, weight, time). But honestly I think it is the shape and rails. If you want I ca...

Re: WTB: Neumatic (Dale S.) Mat
Actually scored an excellent condition neumatic contrail. It was used like two times. Still looking for another just in case. Dale's mats very different feel than say an MT5. Still love my MT5 S3 but it has seen better days since being slammed in to the rocks at panics and staying there overnight.

Re: HPD Flex Paipos - Small
Took flex v2 paipo out to K-bay marine base and got a few in some shorebreak type conditions. Closeout city. But v2 worked better than the std HPD small that my friend had out there. Only slightly better but better. To short of a ride most times. We are waiting on another pair up session so we can s...

Re: Hoyte WaveArrow Paipo
Not sure what bonzer Paipo but know was Malcolm Campbell shaped.
That is why the guy put a single on this Hoyte. As he felt it was better than the small twin fins.

Re: Help Identify this paipo
Took to shaper friend and he suspects it is marine epoxy. Also board is very light in terms of weight.
Have not hooked up to chat with Larry. Tried early today at the shop and brought down my Romanosky single fin epoxy spoon for shop ower to check out. Hopefully soon we can sync up.

Heard Larry checked it out and wants to go out and do a sesh. So can swap boards. Need to tighten her up and she has a glass crack on bottom and another shoddy repair that needs attention.

-does it work with paulownia wood?
-paulownia paipo I have has linseed oil on it. Do I need to strip it before applying minwax?

Help Identify this paipo
Aloha All Scored this off CL and hoping someone can help identify who possibly made this paipo. It looks to have been reglassed or some one took a rattle can to it. For sure it was originally foam and glass. And for sure someone sprayed it. Leash that came with it is old. Here are the pics: DECK htt...
