Re: uss starship enterprise
new lesson learnt for today........ pigmented epoxy is a waste of space. hot coated, rubbed back, and to hide polyfilla cockups i thought i'd do like a big resin line - pin line. with pigmented (black - worst color but all i had) resin well the black is the wishy-washiest colour i've ever seen. and ...

hi Krusher, all glassed, finboxes in, just sanding back the fill coat. going to have to do a wee bit of art work as i had an accident! wind blew the blank off my shaping stand outside and dinged it. had a web dredge for scapple (think thats what its called) and its new zealand equivalent. saw to use ...

Another question someone maybe able to help me with - how are people attaching handles either timber or rope? I don't know if i like the nose break potential of a timber one, but the rope although pretty ugly i could see being a plus.

Hi Bob, yes the pic is a bit confusing - but you've got it. Scooped top and bottom and thick beams. Had a look at gus's wave arrows and although they look very interesting i didn't think I'd attempt it on a first foam board - thats a pretty complicated bit of glassing - and shaping! A mate of mine i...

13897888152_b2bd8913c1_z.jpg Hi Bob, board width is a bit funny to work out to because of the large concave on the bottom and the scooped deck as well. i'll add a pic so you can see what i mean. board thickness in the centre of the board at the thinest place its about an inch thick but at the back ...

Re: uss starship enterprise
sorry no aku shape other than a big oversized lump of foam that i got from the styrene guys. tell the truth i don't know how many liters it would be. tried mocking up a few aku shapes and got a few ideas but in the end decided to slash and scrape away at it. duck diving - not a lot i'd think but tim...
