Interesting Dave....although just looking at that photo made me want to put a chiropractor on speed dial. :D

Rod.....my last comment was rather callous....perhaps a "silver lining in a dark cloud" would have been more appropriate.

Makes me want to visit. Rod....I have been reading about the PR financial woes and now Zika concerns. Perhaps will reduce the head count in the line up. :D

For the prospect that was interested in buying my Austin for $100....my Son who said he wanted it has never taken the time to pick it up....and it has not moved from my garage since. Please PM me if still interested and we will strike that deal.

Geoffrey's observation gives a proud Father an opportunity to drop in my Son's Band song "Dreamers" that Shaun Tomson used to close out his movie "Bustin Down the Door".

Re: Which paipo for hollow waves ?

On another subject... How satisfying it is when stand up surfers are scratching for the horizon and a belly boarder can turn and burn on a dime for a late down the line take off.... sometimes involving an air drop but if one can hang on through that first critical section it turns into the fast and ...

Re: Which paipo for hollow waves ?

My two cents worth. 1. The best bet if the wave is not too big and gnarly is up to the top and and over or through the lip. This presupposes you have enough speed and geography to make such a maneuver. 2. If a crunching is inevitable why not just turn toward shore...take the hit....and pull out the ...

Re: Central Coast trip

We have been having a good run up here Paul. I bet SD has been cooking. I typically don't venture north of Pt. Conception....BIG waves....BIG fish....SPOOKY water. Let me know when you hit El Cap and we will see what is happening.

Re: TBG5 Step Up

I had the pleasure of seeing and holding the Manta yesterday. It truly is a work of art. The black matte finish gives it the look of a stealth bomber. Some high tech stuff going on. Looking forward to a test run soon. Surf looks awesome today....but the rains have finally arrived.....and do we need ...

Re: TBG5 Step Up

And a Happy New Year to you SG and Nomas. Nomas I concur with your decision to start out North of the Pay Lot on a sizable day at C St. I launched at Stables on such a day last year and almost learned a lesson the hard way. Non stop duck diving coupled with an unforgiving current and by the time I m...

Hey Pes....surfing looks to be a bit of a crap shoot conditon wise and given Holiday obligations. Spudnut and I are talking a possible LR outing tomorrow around 11AM if conditions and schedules warrant. Remind me your phone#.

Re: TBG5 Step Up

OK....here is a naive question for you experts. I say naive because I suspect it has been addressed many times. Why does it seem to me....that on the 23 liter T4 I experience more chattering "skipping stone" effect than I do on the smaller 21.5 liter T2? More volume creates more chatter? M...

Re: TBG5 Step Up

Well it all makes me chuckle. As the proud owner of both a T2 and T4 this Manta experiment has me scratching my head. My preference is less volume and just enough fin to avoid slip and slide. Twin fins delivers stability while affording agility. This Death star T5 with quad fins looks like a s...

Had a stellar uncrowded head high day there Thursday Nomas. A guy in the water told me another TB board had exited just before I went out. Was that you?
Decided not to put a toe in the water yesterday. :o
