Re: Paipo en Peru video
I feel the opposite of floaty boards...I get into waves easier on the wood paipos...point break or not. I did a side by side on a chest to head high day for about 5 hours. I got good rides on both boards but I got more on the wood boards. No harsh current though.

Good on you!
Re: Music?
BTW Hawkwind was Lemmy's 1st band and was an influence on the Sex Pistols. Listen to 'Brainstorm" and you will hear what I mean.
Re: Music?
Depends on my mood. I'm looking for a motivational feeling before and something of a celebratory feeling after and often they are the same music. I lean towards lesser know bands but not always. My taste runs the whole spectrum from classical to dark ambient black/doom metal. Progressive rock bands ...

Re: Stokefest
I hurt my back at 2am the Sunday. I was not able to go. I did however watch the fun on the Surfline cam. Looks like nice waves until the wind hit at 10.

I finished my blue stained board. I was very patient. I took the time to let stain and coats of varnish fully dry. I did not rush things at all. I surfed the board for the 1st time today. had fun. I noticed the varnish on the deck is peeling off like a skin. WTF? I have 5 coats on the bottom and 3 o...

Re: Humboldt surfer
Did NOT surf. Weather and bad road conditions to the beach plus high wave storm like conditions had me with long johns on, a good book, and some whiskey to pass the time, not to mention all the good food I could eat. Now I really gotta get back in the water just to loose the weight I gained

Re: Humboldt surfer
Thats very cool jbw but we will be flying. I did not want to go up the pass in the icy snowy roads. My Bro-in-law also just sent me the forecast for south Oregon Nor Cal surf for double to tripple over head and choppy conditions all week. I will at least go give it a look.

Re: Xylem Malama Kai paipo
I found for me 3/8" ply to be too thin. Too much flex on bigger waves or waves with any power. I found 1/2" to be right for me. I have not tried 3/4" yet. I wonder how that would work? Hmmmm how could I find out???.........
