Re: T-Belly Generation 2

check this out if you dare. design theory made fact through one guy as close to the little yellow haired surf idol, GG. its why my boards are under 21" wide, more interesting things too.http://surfmatters.blogspot.com/2014/05/30-years-of-testing-and-tinkering-5-law_26.html So are you saying yo...

Re: T-Belly Generation 2

My board is made from 2lb EPS. I think that EPS is 15-20% more bouyant. I guess the increased bouancy with less volume and lightness makes it feel lively. Ok that's a good starting point, in poor waves literage/flotation does not bother me so much, but in good waves I despise a board with to much f...

Re: Paipo Board Blank Material

There is a guy over in the pacifica area with a cad blank shaping machine (cut most blanks for there and the santa cruz area), if you can design you board in CAD, he will cut it out for you.

Re: bellyboard fins

One simple thing you can do is try prone riding that board with just the front fins, and then just the back fins in. Will give your brain food for though.

Re: T-Belly Generation 2

so with EPS having more float that poly (I realize both can have different density's).

If you had a tipical 30L poly board and a tactical EPS 30L board how much more float roughly would the EPS board have 10%?

Re: My new SDF surfboard Paipo

Just an update to say the board is now over a year old, poor think is hammered but still rides great. love it in 1ft welsh waves and double over head aboard. It has so far been beyond my own surfing capability's to find a line to draw that this board will not handle without problems. Never looses a ...

Re: T-Belly Generation 2

Austin are on the right track going 43. 22.5, but they need to get volume back int he middle of the board and go nearly 3" to get back to 28ish litres. for the rider of weight and height those dimensions would suit.

Re: DaFins and Vipers V5 - Some Observations

The Dafins are the only fins I have experienced with such a rigid blade, i had the rounded tip kicks and never liked them, then they perished and snapped across the heal straps in less that 10 surfs!!! :o I have had the vipers in softer orange dot which i liked but how now also broken from reef walki...

Sorry late to the party!

Thanks for the kind words.

I got to cross something off the bucket list that day, Jeff is a fantastic host.

And as he said we truly found there are more than one way to build and ride a paipo!

Re: New EPS Board

The lay up is 3 layers of 4 ounce top and bottom with Entropy Bio epoxy resin. It doesn't really have any flex at all. But it feels different than my Polyurethane board with a stringer. It seems to have more energy and catch waves easier even though it is narrower and thinner than my PU board. my f...

Re: Board Build Pictures

I got to the beach too late on Friday. The surf crapped out by the time I got there. I got some good surf today though. I made a lot mistakes on the board. The rails are too thick and the tuck is too big etc. But it goes pretty good. Let us know, when you have some time. so the rails being to thick...

Re: swim fins - DaFin

Any longevity reviews on the dafins. When i got mine (mail order) I was very unhappy with the width of the heal strap, I hardly used the fin maybe 10 times (left them at a friend in california) upon return the next year I was surfing up in santa cruz and camping at a site south of town, so I had an ...
