This is a board I made out of some base board molding someone gave me it was 10' long and 3/4" thick. 10ea of them made of ash I think. I strip the edges off and ending up with 1 1/8" wide strips glued them togather to make a plank 12" wide and 5 feet long and 3/4" thick. when it...

I made two more boards this week. I took two pieces of 1/2" birch ply screw them together then cut and sanded them at the same time. two for one. the cost was about $15 ea. I sold one on the beach for $100 the first day I took it out SCORE! I still have one left that is like haveing your cake a...

I credit my dad. back in 1960 my brother and I asked my dad for money to buy a $25 surfboard he said no! so he gave us a sheet of 1/2" plywood and a jig saw and said make one. we made two 4'X2' boards and painted them with house paint. had the best summer of my childhood. THANKS DAD

my brother did that for my business cards. he make a good liveing with his photos
As for the board I would keep it at 1/2" any thinner and it might brake. pine is soft so go slow with the plane if you take to much you can't put it back on

you can make it any size you like. but I would keep it from 3 1/2 feet to 4 feet long and 16" to 20" wide

the closest I had to a plastic board was a tray out of the school lunch room. And I lost it in the surf it went to the bottom. then I went back to wood

with your ply wood I would sand it smooth then put about 3 to 4 coats of spar varnish will be ok for about a year or so
