Can't say I have heard of this Hansen paipo model before. Apparently Hansen built some Stratoglas shortboards as well. Anyone out there familiar with these models?

Think it really comes down to the intended use, as a hand plane or a prone ridden paipo. No doubt it could be placed under the belly but intent is a huge part of the equation.

Nice looking boards. They appear to be along more traditional lines (plan shapes). How long and wide are the boards and are they flat=, concave- or convex-bottomed?

Hydrate well in the 24 hrs before going out. The Vipers Orange Dot are good (at least the old formulation was good, the black and orange), I used them regularly before moving to DaFin. Are you using the 7" or 5" Viper Yellow Dot?

I was graced with meeting Tom Morey outside the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of the American Indian. We had a good chat with the help of his wife. Morey was also engaged with innovating removable skegs (board fins).

Update: the various patches and tape have been doing a good job as have the 2mm fin socks. During this next week I plan to test out the awning material affixed with aqua seal. The Yucca SoftFlex XXL sounds about right for overall surfriding. And remember you are using these for mat and paipo surfing. Also, a lot of bodyboarders bend their knees with feet out of the water.

Pez, what would be your normal day off ?

P.S. Pez has been a resident of San Diego for quite some time now and mostly surfs there and up through Central California. But he will be raring to go for a surf at one of our DelMarVa breaks when the swell arrives and we are around.

PhillyViking, we might get a chance to hook up with Pez later in the Summer for some surf down Assateague way and maybe you could try on a pair (assuming the size is close).
