Re: Deathbed Displacement Paiphull

cool shape--have always liked thin rails. Would like to see where the single fin placement is and how big it needs to be to be effective.

Re: T-Belly G3

So Thomas and Bob, do you mean that the extra speed increases the effect of the fins and so in this circumstance, smaller could be better? During my knee boarding phase, I too found the best way to get thru when caught inside on big sets was to abandon ship (after making sure nobody was behind me) a...

Re: New EPS Board

Hey jbw, did you treat the surface of your shaped blank with anything prior to glass job?
On other posts in this forum, I saw mention of spackle or micro balloons being applied.
Did you find this necessary?

Frankenboard

Ok, I had an old 5-10 kneeboard I was going to peel and shape down to a finned paipo. Poobah kindly suggested I leave the old glass on and just cut off the nose. {great suggestion} I have done that (9inches) and also cut some of the tail off. Then I crudely attached nose and tailblocks and here it i...

Re: Duckfeet/DaFin comparison (land-based early impressions)

Have had a pair of duckfeet for awhile...good power but a tad uncomfortable and slow to accelerate for my skill level {moderate at best}. Bought a pair of dafins this morning and took out my mat in 3 foot beach break..Dafins were just much easier to use. Caught a lot of waves and quick turn aound ta...

Re: bellyboard fins

Poobah, that is a great idea!!!! Having stripped a lot of boards in my misspent youth, I wasn't looking forward to that part of it. thanks for the input on the nose rocker--I had no idea.

thanks!

Re: New EPS Board

I like your board. What are the dimensions? Is there much rocker in it?
Any thoughts on it now you've had it for awhile? I'm thinking of a similar project.

Thanks

bellyboard fins

Hi, I have an old kneeboard that I want to re-shape into a bellyboard. It has a quad fin set up and I intend to cannibalize parts to put two fins on the new bellyboard. The front two fins are larger and are only foiled on the outside surfaces of the fins, the inside surface is flat. The rear fins ar...
