I like the little boards you made for you and your familly, their look is nice, short and rounded. I guess all these hard wood boards are quite heavy, aren't you afraid to be hit by them during the rides ? They are mostly made of paulonia wood and really aren't that heavy. Most of the time I don't ...

I see your leash plug is located centre of your board. Does it get in the way often or are riding/paddling off the back? I'm presuming you are using a bicep style leash. Bob Just something new to try out. Shaped board to ride both directions so wanted to test out a center position instead of 1 plug...

very cool boards--where do you get all the different woods? I get the poplar from a local wood company and mill...get the rough boards. Nice woodwork there. They are a long way from that paddleboard in the background. How do you find these short boards to surf? They are very light and floaty...lots of fun. Not that different from a boogieboard really just the wooden version. I made one for each of my kids and my Wife...so different...

Last one for now...all poplar with spar finish. Wood dye front. Grooves cut into tail. 48 inches by 19 inches.

Slightly different shape...paulonia and poplar...tung oil finish with center fin and leash plugs.

My Yin Yang board. Poplar, paulonia and basswood. Tung oil finish. Leash and center fin plugs. Wood dye again for the color.

Another version of the Eddie Van Halen stripe...this time a fish with side biter fin plugs...all poplar and spar finish. "Slide Fast...Wear Stripes"

This was the second style I made...balsa and basswood. maybe 18 wide and 28 long. I used hardwood dowels all the way through all of the boards to join these. Spar finish.

My first boards...made them for the Family...different sizes. All balsa and basswood...colorful. Fun boards. Joined with carbon pieces, dyed and finished with spar varnish. More pics of other styles to come!

Hers another...fun one. Its my Eddie Van Halen board. All poplar...finished with spar. 4 foot long, 20 wide and 3/4-1 thick. Cut grooves in bottom to channel water and installed side biter fin plugs. I may cut it down to lighten it up...maybe change tail into a fish.

These 2 boards are made from Paulonia boards and joined with 2 inch carbon dowels. Both just under 42 inches long, 18 inches wide and 1/2-3/4 inch. thick.
