They are 4.45" high by 4.37 long. They are in the medium range on their line. http://www.futuresfins.com/fin-detail.php?id=121&largeimg=blackstix_jc1_full.jpg My other pair are bigger. http://www.futuresfins.com/fin-detail.php?id=33&largeimg=twinkeel_t1_full.jpg They have great drive. I...

Re: Fin recommendations

Here are the fins I have been using. They seem to work great (on my board 51" by 22"). They are Futures Vector II 460s. The foil really helps accelerate on turns. I have only side slipped once, when a wave closed on me from behind. I was going to try their smallest fin also, the "Supe...

Re: Oahu

Paipo Jim, I thought this was supposed to be a forum where people who have similar interests have friendly discussions about paipo/bellyboarding etc. I don't think peopIe should be hurling insults such as: "I personally consider Marin County to be in la-la land, full of people with too much mon...

Re: Oahu

Being born and raised and having lived my entire life in Northern California we always considered anything Malibu or the canyons south to be Southern California. Central California ended at Monterey. Monterey and north is Northern California.

Re: Swim fins/flippers

I have been using Pro-force fins by Force fins for the last 6 years or so. I can kick for three to four hours without cramping. Regular force fins and Rip force fins don't have enough power. I have used both before switching to Pro-Force fins. I talked to the creator Bob Evans and he said that they ...

Re: Oahu

I had a good time on the Northshore last March. There weren't too many people. But this was after the main season. I was going to go over there this month, but decided against it. My son has been going to school over there he says it gets very crowded. Also if you look at the Surfline cams there are...

Re: Austin mini paipo (44") impressions

Rod, Where on the sternum are measuring from? The sternum is actually three bones and is about 8 inches long. Do you mean at the bottom of the sternum? (at the xiphoid process.)

Re: Are there any Commercial Paipos available on the market

Words and their meanings change with time and location. When I was young (here in Northern California)we always called fiberglass surfboards that you surf laying down "Bellyboards". The soft foam boards that came along later, have been called "bodyboards" by the general public. (...

I don't think you need to use words like "bullshit" in this forum. This is just a friendly discussion.

Re: Fin recommendations

Rod, thanks for your input. I borrow some fins from my son when he comes home for Xmas. Also I went to John Mels' shop last weekend and he has a Futures fin testing tree. You can borrow fins to try out. That should be fun. Another company that makes fins is True Ames. They make fins for booth FCS, F...

Re: Fin recommendations

Here are the fins I have been using. They are Futures T1 twin fins. They have 4.8 bases and 5.15 height. They hold really well and seem to turn ok. This is first time I have had fins in 30 years, so I am pretty new. I am also getting used to riding a bigger board. I am going to try some smaller Al M...

Re: New T Belly Board

I wanted to report to you guys how my new board rides. First I rode on some small 1-3 foot waves. It rode pretty well but I was brand new to the board. Then I rode it on some overhead plus closed surf. I had some difficulty. I kept pearling at the bottom of the wave. But it pretty was closed out and...

Re: New T Belly Board

The shape is based on Larry Goddard's Maili Marauder. I wanted a wider board and Goddard designed 40 different designs and rode in big waves. Check his interview on mypaipoboards site. I wanted 51 inches and 22 inches wide. I told him how big I was and what kind of waves I ride and he did the rest. ...

New T Belly Board

Next week I will hopefully receive or pick up my Paipo/belly board. Thomas Patrick Surfboards is making mine. It is based off the Larry Goddard Maili Marauder. I've attached the spec sheet. I thought you might to see it. I've gone a little wider (22") than the Austin boards. I am 6 ft 213lbs. I...
