Re: Cork deck
Thanks Mike. maybe... I may be close to you for the next NSSA kneeboard contest( my friend is in it). I think it is in SD county in a couple weeks. How does cork do for deck material? Will it last a year? What kinda glue would I use to stick it to the deck? If I can find some nearby I will grab it. ...

Re: Saterday project
I made a square tail lust like the 1st board.I liked the turning on the swallow better but the square would catch waves a bit easier..not much though. I have been riding the square more while a these next two boards are being finished. The next board aI make will be a square tail and maybe an inch o...

Re: Saterday project
Soulglider, are you referring to the 1st board on the 1st page of this post or the board on this page? I went with a bit more parallel lines on this one. http://i1191.photobucket.com/albums/z477/ClanB2011/WP_000131.jpg over this 1st board. http://i1191.photobucket.com/albums/z477/ClanB2011/2012-02-2...

Re: chalk paint
I did a wood stain that look hideous so I painted with left over chalk paint my wife made using grey and blue interior paint mixed with some plaster of paris. it gives furniture a rustic look. I did the deck one night and the bottom the next. Im guessing the second day the paint may have changed som...

leashes??
Any of you put leashes on your wood paipos? I never have. Never even gave it thought...until this morning....I chased my board for 100+ yards as the current took it. I even had to use a spotter up on the board walk to point it out for me.

Anyone ever use chalk paint? I just did on one of my boards and it looked great until I noticed cracking after day two of drying. Im now sanding and putting on a primer and then give it a quick spray paint and then marine varnish.

Re: Saterday project
The Douglas fir marine ply seems to "soak up" the varnish. Is that normal? How many spray coats is ok before I use the board? I have 3 on the bottom and 2 on top. All coats were light.

Re: The Cordless Belt Sander
I used a new belt and cut a pc. of wood to fit it. I used it to finish shape the nose area and burn off pencil marks on the deck. Worked great. I will use this when I want to remove some wood but not at the rate a belt sander does. Thanks for the tip.
