Re: swim fins
Used them today. Comfort is the best of any fin I have used. Stiff, seems like long slower kicks work best, I was hopeing for better burst speed but still cool. Thay have about the same power as my Vipers. Did not cramp up for several hours. Easy to walk in and out of the water. Bottom line= I realy...

Re: swim fins
Well...I ended up getting Dafins. I will get wet Sunday. Very nice fit so far.I can almost run in them. SJB the ONLY fins I have ever fallin' while having on is the V7 Vipers. I realy like them for swimming, getting around, lotta power, but...catching waves is slow, like a semi going through the gea...

paint on wax
I did a quick hack job on an old paipo to convert the round tail into a swallow. I removed wax on the edges with a wax comb and did some cutting. I painted the edges but ended up having quite a bit of over spray. now the middle of the waxed board has a layer of black paint on it. when the board drye...

OK right now Im using Vipers V-7....I like them in the water, swimming and just getting around..slower on take off and...when I exit the water, even when paying attention, I sometimes stumble and trip. This must look great to people on shore  I realize that I spend 99% of the time in the water...

Re: plywood quality
Forgot about that old thread. However..The 1st 3 boards were birtch and one only had paint as a seal. None have failed. What I would like to do is find some 1/8" ply that I could stack to 1/2" and glue some kick into the nose but aI can live with good quality 1/2".

Re: Leash for fiberglass paipo/bellyboard?????
Well the BB coil leash I got is pretty beefy...more so than the short leg leashes I looked at. The hosing is thick and the swivals are stout and the cuff is wide and well padded and I dont know about the key pocket but I dont need it as I have that elswhere. when it hangs down from the nose it is ab...

Re: Leash for fiberglass paipo/bellyboard?????
I went to the surf shop and looked at coiled BB leashes, short board 5' leashes and some straight BB leashes. I ended up getting a higher end BB coil leash. The 5 footers by FCS and Dakine, to me, had too much leash hanging around and I felt it would bother me but they had a nice cuff. The cheap str...
