Re: Old Hayden paipo
Many similarities in the plan shape and belly and tail. It is hard to tell how much of a spoon is in the Hayden.

Re: Paipo Gathering in San Simeon Aug 3-5, 2012
What kind of water temps and air temps can be reasonably expected in early August in the San Simeon area? I need to figure out what kind of rubber to bring.

Re: Paipo Gathering in San Simeon Aug 3-5, 2012
Robert Moynier passed along some information on alternative "lodging" for those who might be adverse to camping out. Looks rather nice to me.: Hi guys, here's a cool place in town run by some friends of mine (serious water people).. $70 a night, can have up to 3 people.. might work for som...

Re: Interesting Rash Guard
Yes! I have been wearing my new "rib guard" everyday here in Costa Rica since last Thursday. It has made a difference. I have come a long way in healing since my accident here in March and the rib guard has been doing the job in providing compression and protection. I didn't purchase the o...

I am with you Ted... expecting all those luscious babes to start pinging on me. starting. right. now. :) Glenn gave me heads up about the site about a week ago. Apparently he browses the Paipo Forums and the web pages although I don't recall him registering for the forums. Maybe he has. Met Glenn an...

Please send along with a description of the technology of the implementation.bgreen wrote:Rod,
I can send better photos. The board has been surfed in very solid sized reef breaks (SW France, Ireland) including some quite choppy as well as windy offshore days. No problems at all.

Re: Travel Beater Tri-Sect
Interesting implementation: http://www.abc.net.au/tv/newinventors/txt/s2538185.htm It appears that the joining sections were exposed foam and not fiberglassed but I really couldn't tell. BobG, I have seen a couple of your photos but they were mostly lo-resolution. How has that board been holding up ...

Re: Travel Beater Tri-Sect
A proper wood or plywood PAIPO board can easily be sized to fit in a suitcase. But some folks just ain't happy unless they've got some foam and fins. :geek: You got that right... NOT HAPPY!!! That suitcase sized wood paipo you're suggesting would be more the size of a hand gun given today's travel ...

Re: Travel Beater Tri-Sect
I am not anti-mat, so don't get me wrong. However, much of my surfing is done while traveling and riding my board of choice is my preference. In the last couple of years it has become more difficult to travel on the airlines with luggage much less surfing boards. Even our small paipos are now under ...

Re: Travel Beater Tri-Sect
Speaking for myself, I would much prefer a board similar to what I ride. Mats would be an easy, simple way to go but then that begs the question -- why doesn't everyone ride a mat or simply bodysurf.
The challenge is out there -- can anyone engineer and build a good paipo bisect?

Interesting project. I would love to see this adapted to a fiberglass/foam paipo.
