Been lurking mostly. Planing on being up Friday evening probably late since I'll have to go through the gauntlet on a Friday night.

Re: Wood Paipo

Here's some pics from this weekend. My highlight was when I was paddling back out to the line up and a guy said "was that you riding without hands?" This board has been what I've been riding pretty exclusively everyday. Took my cork board out last week cause I felt I was neglecting it :D ....

Re: Wood Paipo

Board been going well for me only take out if there been a swell or a lower tide. Had a couple pics shot of me a few weeks ago, I'm working on riding it malolo style. I did get a wave that I rode that way and it felt so freeing, unreal feeling. Mahalo Jarret again maybe one day I can bring her home.

I've stayed at Morro Bay campground a couple time and it's pretty quiet there. Also stayed at Phfier in Big Sur for a night and that had pit toilets running water but I don't think showers. What about in Kage's neck of the woods? There are a couple state parks in around the area.

Re: 4ft Freshie

If you're still going to use fins, will they be glassed on? Doesn't look like there is enough thickness for fin boxes, although could be the camera angle. You may have to go with the old school FCS "pots". Just a thought... Yes will be putting full futures boxes in. It's 1.25" out to...

Re: Fins

Rod I threw them out and I don't think I'm going down that road again. I've done some dumb stuff the last month with my equipment.

Re: Fins

Well I ended getting some dafins and had them out for 15 minutes. had to go in and switch out to my repellors. I then cut them down and brought them out and had no improvement. Now I had a pair of fins stashed in Florida but I couldn't remember what they were. I'm pretty sure that I was supposed to ...

Re: 4ft Freshie

Went to measure the board for the cove pad today and going to go with a twin setup running side bites. We laid it out the thruster with the boomerang fins and just didn't fit the board. Plus we agreed that it was a lot of fin for the board. The bottom is a little more subtle than my last one he did ...

Have another board in the works from Tony at TC. It's 4ft by 22.5 thickness out at the rails 1.25" in the center is .5" give or take. Same bottom contours as my last one and doing a thruster setup. Going to get these fins from True Ames https://www.trueames.com/collections/tri-fins-thruste...

Re: Fins

Revisiting this again. Was out Tuesday last week and almost ended out to sea. I have the DMC repellor fins and they have worked very well for me but since that was the first real swell that I've have had them out in since I got these over a year ago I wasn't going anywhere out out. Pretty sure I was...

Re: Wood Paipo

Sunday I was out for an hour or so as with all these swells they get pretty hyped up. There was waves but not from the swell that is currently running further North. Got a few that were better than last week been kinda rough the last few weeks not getting in the water much just being out of rhythm w...

Re: Wood Paipo

So got the board last Saturday and took it out Sunday morning in not so ideal conditions. It was about 1-2 and pretty weak but I caught about 3-4 for waves. Board felt so smooth going through the water and didn't have much problem catching waves considering. I think it has to do with how wide the ta...

Yeah We'll have to see. He has a guy in Florida that rides his boards there so I think I'll be ok. But won't know until I get it in the water.

Re: Can't help myself

That's where I get caught up trying a couple ideas on each board. On my cork board there are a few times where I'm slip sliding around but at least I know its because I don't have the rail engaged. But once I do I'm good. I have a wood paipo on the way and it seems I have less to think about on the ...
