Re: 4'2 Bellyboard

It's funny you say that because I feel people are influenced by what they see. And I was definitely going for something along the lines of what I borrowed from you. Where I shape at they had Daniel Thompson of Tomo surfboards there last week. And one of the questions that was asked was do you have a...

4'2 Bellyboard

Here's my board I shaped a couple weeks ago. It's in glassing right now shaped out of poly foam. Dims are 4'2 20 at midpoint and I think it's 21 or so at the widepoint. Widepoint about 10 inches back can't really remember. Has a concave deck the whole way through and is 2.25" thick at the strin...

Re: Tbelly

Yeah it was your board. Was at the doctor yesterday and no issues with the knee. The board is being glassed right now so I should get it in a couple weeks. I'm going to try and post some pictures on here, maybe tonight.

Re: Going finless

So my knee hasn't had any issues all this week. I got my kneeboard last week and have been surfing that with no problems. It may sound weird but i think it was the board that was causing the issue. On my kneeboards I would kick paddle around the lineup and on the TBelly I didn't have any knee issues...

Re: Going finless

I've been using the H2O's. They are really comfortable but the blades are pretty stiff. I have a pair of Dafins but I didn't like them very much.

Re: Going finless

Yeah after thinking about what it was that I'm doing different, I think part of it is it's the knee I'm using to duck dive my board. This board is 4'9 22 2 7/8 so I'm using a knee and on the flip side using Soulglider I didn't use my knee at all completely different board. Took the last few days off...

Re: Going finless

Yeah something along the lines that skiff is doing but not as wide. I think even going with something like yours with better foam distribution would work. I would have to mostly arm paddle into waves, but I'm not going to jump the gun just yet. I have a doctors appointment in a couple weeks. I think...

Going finless

So a few weeks ago I started feeling a dull pain in my knee. Has anyone tried going finless? I just finished a board and it is very low volume. I would have swim into waves and then pull myself up onto the board to ride. I need to have the knee checked out before I do any quiver changes.

How Long is Too Long?

Posting this question to see if anyone has feed back on going longer in their paipos/bellyboards. I generally surf in crowded beach breaks in San Diego.

Re: bellyboard for BIG guy

I got one from Thomas and I feel it was a little short for me and the belly didn't help me much. I don't like belly in my boards and I should have mentioned this to him and maybe could have taken it out. I then shaped a 4'9 22 2 7/8 not sure about the volume but it does catch waves good unless its h...

Re: Introduce yourself

Hey everyone. My name is Paul and its good to be on the forum. Well this prone surfing started over the summer for me. There was a paipo demo at beacons one day so I decided to check it out. I was out for a couple hours trying some boards but there was something missing. I needed more float because ...
