Re: Bellyboard Assortment

Okay, time to get back to this. I spent most of the Summer in evac mode with all the wildfires. We had 4 fires around the lake, but we were spared. The last one was pretty horrible. More than 1200 homes destroyed and anther 800 outbuildings. During all that I managed to sell and deliver the Paipo Nu...

Re: The Wava Hull

Awesome. For the sake of our readers here, the bigger board is 40 inches long.

I'd like to know the connection between the BAQ Wava Hull and the Voit Speedrider. I've always assumed the design was sold to Voit. When would that have been?

Surface Mount Leash Attachments

I was talking with Kage last week about glue-on leash attachments. He said the O'Fish'L version was no longer available. I checked in my garage, but I could only find one of the Surfco E-Z plugs. For the sake of people that prefer the O'Fish'L version...has anybody seen a stash of these anywhere. Li...

Re: The physics of buoyancy

A 30 liter board made from french fries will displace 30 liters of fluid when the board is completely submerged. The displaced fresh water would weigh 30 kilos, and the saltwater about 30.8 kilos. That's less than a two pound difference. Can you offset that difference by shaving a couple pounds off ...

Re: Paipo Gathering - Fall 2015?

How many people would be interested in a West coast tour, like 3 campgrounds in 7 days? Or 4 campgrounds in 10 days? Not necessarily in the Winter.

Re: Paipo Gathering - Fall 2015?

I like the weekdays, but maybe we should first agree to do these gatherings more often. Preferably somewhere with good access to rolled tacos with guacamole.

Re: Board outline, with and without fins

I tried looking for some Bodyboard video that was shot by helicopter or aerial photography. But I ran into problems, because helicopter and aerial have other meanings in the bodyboard universe. Can any of you recall any bodyboard vids filmed from above? Meanwhile...here's something for the quadfin g...

Re: Vintage Paipo Nui

The sale is still pending. It's not a done deal until it's done. I expect it will, but you (Airboy) can be the first alternate if the buyer changes his mind.

Re: eBay Beeg Sale

I'm guessing that the ebay seller is initially responsible for a fee based on the end of auction. I wonder how long it takes to sort that out. The bidding was done by two newbies, or one person pretending to be two people. A flaw in the system...maybe newbies shouldn't be allowed to bid over a certa...

Re: Bellyboard Assortment

Of course the size of the rider is a factor. Not everybody can have fun on the little Newport Concave Vector. I think the Gordon and Smith single fin is the best all around board in the bunch.

I got slowed down by tape goo on Saturday. OK I'll post the nicer boards first...it's a matter of opinion. First up is a vintage Gordon and Smith single fin....in it's own thread.

Gordon and Smith Single Fin SOLD

Technically it's a kneeboard, but you can bellyboard it. At 53.5 inches it's really similar to an El Paipo 54, but IMO the bottom contour and rails show more shaping creativity than the off-the-rack EP54.. The Vari Set fin is not drilled for a leash...minor miracle. Some pressure dings on the deck, ...
