Spudnut,
How long ago was this? I've done a few searches for Gunther Glass, but not found anything current.

Classic experimentation - Ted on the takeoff's and Spudnet with the fin/floation combo,
Now I wasn't too sure on the rock forward/no paddle method. Presumably the wave needs a bit of power/lip propulasion for this to work.

Mike,
What are the three black pieces perpendicular to the crack made from and their purpose (e.g to bind the cracked halves or prevent further cracking)? Does this method generally work?

Re: Another "Blast from the past..."
I did a web search on Danny Tarampi, which kept bringing up similar information, that was recycled over various sites.
Is there an e-mail address I can try and I'll contact him.

Re: Another "Blast from the past..."
Nomastomas, Great story. What was Danny's background in paipo that was referred to on your blog? The other interesting thing, is looking at the profile on Poobah's photos - the sister boards is nice and thin, though the thickness is further forward than on boards like Larry Goddards. It would also b...

Re: SurfMat Article
Ramsnake, When I read where you were from, I didn't read carefully enough. I saw Denmark, but now realise this is Denmark Oz. Many years ago, on a trip to WA I went for a surf at Denmark, jumped off the rocks and got hit by whitewater and didn't realise my fins were knocked out until I got out. Got ...

I surfed in Italy a coule of years ago. What was noticeable was the lack of power on the shoulder once you got away from the peak. I'd agree, more floation and/or wider tail.

Re: Flexible Hulls- plastic sheet and mesh
Brett, Thanks for the offer. No plans for a trip to Sydney. Maybe next year. I got a new board today - a super thin, Goddard style board. Huie's is also fine-tuning a board he made for me. I need more time for surfing. I can't even suggest anyone down that way too try your board. I look forward to s...

Hello Og-Azn,
Thanks. Interesting paipos and boogies competed against each other. Not sure this has happened anywhere else.

OG-AZN,
Can you post a couple of photos of your trophy? Do you recall (a) the specific year of the contest, (b) the location and (c) the placegetters?
Regards

Re: plywood quality
Doesn't sound like it. I recall making enquiries about marine ply a while ago. I rang a few comanies and there is considerable variation in quality in rleation to woods used and glue quality from what I gathered. Someone for the US should be able to give you a good supplier of marine ply, though you...
