The paipo community has received some general feelers to be part of the kneeboarding titles during future events. In the meantime we have been invited to attend this year's event and "partake in the evening festivities taking place at Sandy’s Beach Grill. This would be a good time to mingle and talk shop with other like-minded fined freaks."

Of special interest to paipo riders during the Kneeboarding Titles and Festival will be a kneeboard and paipo board exhibit at the HB International Surfing Museum that will run during the event and for about two months and host another event at the museum in February to showcase the exhibit.

More info here: http://www.ksusa.org/Forum/ksusa_titles_2012.php

I would love to attend but will be in Puerto Rico. Post up if you think you will be able to make it, take some pictures and learn what you can to share with us on the forums.

I went. It was realy fun and everybody I met was very cool. It was good to be around so many that were there for the love of riding waves. Compitition was good. The waves were shoulder to head high with some plus sets and I heard Friday was bigger and better. I had to leave at noon and at that time the wind had changed from off shore to on shore and created some bump on the water. I did see a plywood paipo, tombstone style, sticking out of the sand but never found out who the owner was. One thing I noticed was the amount of "Chopped" swim fins. Seemed like 1 out of 5 had very very short modified fins of several brands.

Unofficial results for the Open Division:

1. Chris Beresford
2. Tom Backer
3. Ed Quinn
4. Pat Evans

Is there a general interest in participating next year by having a paipo division? It really isn't about the competition -- it is about the camaraderie of our kind and our brethren. We could even field wood and a foam/glass divisions, lol.
