We are having a huge heat spell, air and water, along the Eastern Seaboard. Anything like that happening along the West Coast? I might bring along a 3/2 with the 4/3. But, I do like to stay warm!

I am looking forward to the variety of boards as well.

Today's water temp for that area was 54 degrees (out at the bouy 10+ miles offshore). It will probably be warmer in a couple of weeks. For me a 3/2 would work just fine. But I have is a 4/3, because the water up here is colder. I am very warm in 54 degrees. But yoy might used to warmer water.

I'm in a 4/3 year round because really what's the difference nowadays? Suits are way stretchier and more comfortable than the old days.

Have wetsuit, will travel.

Got a Cypher 4/3 for 30% off. These new fangled wetsuits are really stretchy and have unusual closure mechanisms. Seems really warm - especially after wrestling with it in the dressing room. (The salesgirl had to unzip me as I was too tired after trying on four suits.)

Anybody need a ride from Orange County?

I think the limit is two cars eight people per site so I am pretty sure we can fit a few more in reserved sites. Actually, Rod and I have one site booked, has anybody else actually reserved a spot?

Believe there is "overflow" parking that you could leave the car at Ted.

What's up guys. Anyone cruising down to San Simeon from the Oakland/EastBay area or points north; and would you have space for a passenger & some ply paipos?? Will throw in gas money, beer (or beverage of your choice), and maybe even a ply paipo if you do. Let me know.

I have passenger/board room from Orange County. I would welcome someone to share the driving.

Rod, What campsite number will you be at? I am at one of the walkin sites I think. I won't know my number until I get there. I am going to get there Friday around 1 pm.

Kim (kage) has our campsite info -- expect we will arrive around the same time but he will give a more accurate answer. I am a "visitor" to this area!

We are in the san simeon "loop" but I don't think they give us a actual spot until we get there. Look for the white vw squareback and paipos laying around.

I will be riding in by bicycle with a surf mat and fins on Friday. If I can't get in on a hike/bike site, maybe I can piggyback with someone?

Thanks!

I'm gonna meet Ron in Ventura for some paipo riding. I don't think my sore back will tolerate the drive all the way to San Simeon.

Ahh, Ted, San Simeon is a nice drive from Ventura! Beautiful country up in that area as well. Hope your back suddenly improves, too!

Just got back from Pilates. My trainer worked me over good. She hurt me bad - I mean good.

I'm gonna head up to Ron's before dawn Friday.

There may be surf from SSW. Perhaps you guys should make the bee-yootiful drive down here. Just as scenic with the ocean on the right. (Especially the section of 405 from LAX to Long Beach.)

I surfed with Ron and his son Sam this morning in Ventura. We had some fun size waves and good wind conditions from 8 to 11 am. Ron's 50" x 20" x 1.25" paulownia paipo with knife edges and rolled bottom is fun to ride: easy paddling and takeoffs; very good down the line speed; and good turning. Ron's board has parallel rails, unlike Josh's usual Malama Kai model.

Was just the three of us surfing, so crowds not a problem.
