Where are the waves?

Is it just me or has California suffered the worse 12-month period of lackluster surf ever?

Plus that drought out in Calif. I spent a week in south Orange County last October and the best the area breaks could summon was one 3-4' day at Salt Creek and for me it was a mod scene. Every where else was 1-foot or smaller.

Puerto Rico last January, for the three weeks back visiting my homeland, it was the worse in at least two decades. Lucky for me it is always with great pleasure to visit the Island.

Makes R&D a little difficult. Been spending a lot of time fishing (surf and kayak). Gotta get my beach fix...

I count myself extremely lucky. I was in the US /Canada during June-July and caught a swell in Canada, courtesy of a large low, then caught a south swell around Santa Barbara, and caught the first summer swell on Oahu. I am a happy camper but it is all work now.

I'm open to hire if you want some waves. Airfare from Oz is all I need.

Regards

Bob

The last couple of summers under La Nina influence have been much worse than average in my area. This summer is pretty poor too, but there have been more "rideable" days than last year. However, this past winter was one of the best ever. The run of solid surf with perfect conditions in Dec through Jan was mind blowing. It was pretty well documented in commercial & social media, much to the dismay of the locals. Got one of the longest barrel rides on a paipo I can remember back in Nov too.

There is going to be a very nice SW swell in Pacific Costa Rica for about a week. Morning/late-morning high tides as well :) Wish I were there!
