O and dont forget, if you want to enjoy some tasty waves while you visit the mountain top of your journey, you must paddle your ass off! the acid splash is up for it if you dare.

I was up there at Christmas time and it was pretty windy with no rain. The plan is to camp at Hobson's Sunday night so hopefully the front moves pretty quick. If it doesn't rain to heavy I should be fine, my roof does leak when it rains heavy in one spot. Lucky for me it's not right over me. Hopefully surf somewhere Monday morning in the area and then head to Santa Cruz. But judging by the winds forecasted it'll be pretty trashed out there. Right now its not looking to good for El Cap with the current forecast but their saying another storm is developing just not sure how intense and how close it gets to our swell window. Kage looks like Tuesday morning for a surf your way, I have your number and I'll give you a call Monday night to see where you are thinking of where to go.

Well got back from my trip yesterday afternoon. I was sick for most of it and didn't even get in the water the whole time kinda bummed about that but what are ya gonna do?. Good to meet up with kage for a beer and next time I'm up your way think I'll stay a bit longer. It was foggy and sorta raining when I drove through big sur so didn't get to see to much in the drive to plaskett. Very beautiful part of the state and if you haven't been there I recommend you do. Went to Hearst castle and that was really cool to see and to think he never finished it is just crazy. If you haven't been go its well worth it and make sure what ever tour you do go on get one with Sean. I'll post up some pics when I get to the "office" I've got a lot to go through since I stopped at Rincon Thursday and took some pics there.

Well here we go with round 2. Headed up to Santa Cruz for a few days on October 8th so kage and jbw4600 want to meet up let's get a plan together. Kage I have your number and I'll be there until Tuesday. Then I'm headed inland to stay in Yosemite because I've never been. Staying there for a couple days and will head back to the coast somewhere in the SB/VTA area. If anyone has any tips for Yosemite let me know. SJB I'll be in contact once I'm in your neck of the woods.

So bit of a change of plans. I'm not going to Yosemite on this trip. I was thinking since the last trip was a bit of a bust I'm going to stay close ro the coast. So right now, plan on being in Santa Cruz sometime Saturday afternoon and stay until Tuesday. Staying in Morro Bay Tuesday to Thursday and heading down to SB/VTA for the end of the week. Dr Robert will send you a PM with my number.

Like JBW said, you should come just a little ways further north. Good odds you'll find some fun paipo waves this time of year.

Trip recap. Had a really good time on the trip, surfed everyday but Thursday. Met up with kage in Santa Cruz and surfed with him Monday and Tuesday. Was nice to get into waves with some juice behind them. Went to a spot outside of town that was a pretty nice set up and wasn't too crowded to me but kage said it was a crowd. He still got some good rides despite this, I got a couple fun ones as well. Made my way down to Morro Bay for a couple days and surfed the Rock both days, was alright down there but didn't get anything to good there. Drove down to Ventura and met up with SJB and spudnut who doesn't get on here that much. Friday morning SJB and I and his buddy surfed just south of the campsite I was staying at. Got some fun lefts at the beach break we were at and some alright rights there as well. Saturday was another story at a spot with spudnut were it was pumping pretty good. I only got one good right where we paddled out, I then got caught inside a bit and six wave set preceded to wash me in almost to the rocks on shore. Got caught in the current running south and tried to fight it but couldn't get out of it. Decided to just go with the flow and got a couple more waves down the point from were we paddle out at and made the walk back up to were my stuff was at and had to get going. Tried to beat traffic but it didn't work out the way I hoped. Anyway I was glad I decided to stay on the coast and caught some really fun waves. Good to surf with guys up north and hope do it again soon. Possibly have another gathering sometime next year.

Two pretty good days, Paul. It was fun.
From my point of view three is a crowd, two is still pushing it a little bit and if I'm the only one out I'll at least give me some dirty looks.
