Surfline says: "We'll wait a bit longer before diving into precise surf heights, but fun size SSW swell (195-185) looks likely for many exposed breaks the 6th-9th (with a peak in swell for the 7th-8th)"
Not much North swell predicted which means Jalama or Ventura will be best bet for a road trip....45 minutes either direction from El Cap.
Water temps back in low 60s.

Brrrr... I will be prepared, but some warming would always be welcome :)

Temps back in the low 60s Rod. Surfline says: " We're on track to see a nice run of SSW swell (210-185) for next weekend."

You're getting soft Rod. It was 46 when I checked the surf in Ireland this morning. It looked like there was a group out bodysurfing - I'm not sure they had wetsuits on.

Hope you guys get some waves.

Had a good time up North at this years gathering. The catered meals each night was top notch thanks Rod! Now if you could only start work on removing the Channel Islands that would be great. Waves didn't cooperate with us as much as we wanted but what can you do. I think Kage had the wave of the gathering on Sunday afternoon after he got back from getting swim fins. And James had a really good one Monday mid morning at Jalama. Hope everyone got back safe from their travels.

Great trip and gathering this year. Surf is surf, never know what you are going to get. Did get wet 2 days out of 2 so that wasn't bad. Really like the Jalama area nice.

Several times we meant to get board pics, but... we were just to relaxed or out in the water. Great vibe.

Hope JSB is okay up home with all those fires around Santa Rosa.

Me, I have been stuck in the desert or canyons since leaving El Capitan country. And now diverting to central inland Florida to help my parents for several weeks as my mother is now recovering from the big C surgery and dad is recovering from a fall. Will try to get wet a couple of times (but didn't bring baggies, warm water wax, etc!!!).

Missed some of ya'll this past gathering... maybe next time!
