The swell was running around 5 feet @ 17 seconds. Lot's of overhead faces for sure at the spot where we were.

A couple more Oregon pics:
Kneeboarder at a nice N. Oregon spot A friend of mine borrows one of my paipos on many occassions -- this is a pic of Neal riding PaipoJim's paipo fish (since sold to another paipo rider), made by John Mel of Freeline Surfboards, Santa Cruz, CA. Photos below by Paipo Jim. Me on my last Ashton-made paipo on a sloppy, windy but chunky day Neal and I with boards Another nice surfing beach in N. Oregon

Re: Today's Oregon Paipo Pics
Sometimes the coldest water temps here in Oregon are in the summer when the incessant NW winds cause an upwelling of deep and cold water right on the coast. I went out at Yachats once in July and the water was 46 F! It's usually always warmer offshore:

Re: Today's Oregon Paipo Pics
5/4 although IMHO a 4/3 will work in the mid-50's water temp on a sunny day in the summer. I used to wear a 4/3 all the time but I have plenty of natural insulation!
