Holiday Greetings

A belated Merry Christmas and Holidays and a super New Surfing Year to all in our kipapa-style surf riding community!

Tomorrow I venture down to pick up my New Year's paipo present - a Checkered RPM Austin paipo, still the same 50 inches and same width as my other RPM (~20 inches) but a tad thinner. Sun & Sky will lose her virginity in Puerto Rico early next month.

A belated Mele Kalikimaka to everyone, and Hau'oli Makahiki Hou. I'm on O'ahu now, but family commitments will probably keep me barred from surfing most of the trip. I did manage to sneak in a quick 20 min paipo session at Makapu'u today. The waves were only 1-3, and just barely breaking on the outside. Still had some fun rides through to the shorebreak, & I got to share a few with legendary paipo rider Harry. Hope everyone is getting some good surf over the holidays.

Hello Og-Azn,

Did you get a chance to speak with Harry? Must have been interesting to watch his surfing.

All the best for 2012,

Bob

^Nothing beyond some small talk, it was a very brief session for me. I got the "you should have been here last week/ yesterday" story. Cool seeing that guy still out there charging. He was fixture at Makapu'u when I first started surfing as a kid, and I consider myself an old guy now.
