Messed around this past weekend and made an alaia style board out of some curb find shelf boards and a piece of an old garden trellis. The board is 64" L , 18.75" W, 14" tail, and 3/4" thick. My take on the board in the famous "alaia guy at Waikiki" photo. I made some shorter versions out of ply before. I'll try it out once the crazy onshore winds up here subside. Going to use the board as decor at a Hawaiian party this weekend.
On that note, if any of you folks in the Bay Area are interested in some ono Hawaiian style food this Saturday 4/20, come over to the Island Yacht Club, 1853 Clement Ave, Bldg 14 in Alameda starting around 5:30pm . I'm preparing the food including Guava Chicken, BBQ short ribs, Poke, Mac Salad, and more. Only $15/person. Full bar & live music by "The Quiet Surfers". PM me if you're interested. What a bargain -- OG is one ONO chef! Nice job with the boards, too.

That is a big board for you. If I am over there, I will come by.
